Putting together an installation requires the assistance of other professionals.  In the case of the SCIENCE: THE LIGHT WITHIN exhibit, I was happy to have the help of a carpenter, an electrical and a metal cutter. ( The metal cutter used a water laser and computer to cut the beautiful aluminum stars for Orion’s Belt, that suspend above The Prometheus Lights…more in later post)  Back to The Lights…..

To complete the 3_d aspect of the lights, I designed an interior skeleton, which was made of wood.  Holes are for the electric  lights  which will be wired inside the sculpture.

A wonderful carpenter ( my husband) made the Light Box which fuels the lights that are suspended on the wall above the box.  The visual idea is to have the fire of earth travel up the electric cords into the sculpture.

One the lights are wired and the box was painted, I arranged the sculptures on the wall in my studio.  The cord lengths were adjusted. I did a test show in my studio.  Everything was measured before transferring the sculpture and light source to the art gallery.
